Orson Odyssey - Silnylon 1 person tent, single wall, 990g
This is my second Intents outdoors tent and my first single wall tent. Trying to simplyfy and lighten my load without compromising on durability and weather resistance. Although the Odyssey 1 is a bit heavier than similar offerings it ticks both durability and weather resistance boxes and is about half the cost.
Customer service was excellent both times.
The Odyssey 1 is fairly spacious for a lightweight tent , I'm 175cm and sleep on a Thermarest regular wide neoair xlite NXT. Vestibule is generous and easily fits my 40+litre pack with room to spare. It's super quick and simple to pitch, as recommended I practiced a few times before going bush.
I've used the tent several times including a Backcountry 4 day mission river camping and was super impressed. I had worried about condensation, but had no issues even camping on a river flat that was heavily wooded and quite damp. I might have got lucky but this is my 7th time camping in damp areas with no issues. Good ventilation is key, making sure the pitch is quite high and taut and having one of the doors ajar if weather permits.
As already mentioned it's my first single wall tent. For others new to this style of tent it's worth noting that the tent isn't meant to pitch all the way to the ground and the floor is a floating tub. Having the tent raised off the ground creates ventilation you can control how high or low this gap is by raising and lowering the pole.
The only minor thing I would have liked is the ability to open and set the vent at the peak ajar. A simple attached to the tent spacer would allow for this. I've used a short twig on my last camp and will construct something more suitable in the future.
After reading lots of reviews mentioning Silnylon sagging this was something I was also conscious and concerned about. Personally I've had no issues even in rain. I pitch the tent, re-tension after 30+ mins and the tent has been taught/tight as a drum the following morning.
I'm looking forward to my next expedition the Odyssey 1 is a keeper for me. Thanks Len

Orson Odyssey - Silnylon 1 person tent, single wall, 990g
I set up this tent in my backyard over three wet and windy days, I stayed in this tent for one night. My initial impression is this is a sturdy tent but does have water pooling inside in the corners. I think this water is rain and not condensation. I wiped up the water with a cloth and stayed dry.
The tent fly door was awkward to set up and operate properly.
I did not use the groundsheet on the wet grass and found the floor stayed sufficiently dry.

Great, light, strong product at a good price. They even threw in a ground sheet to help out.

Odyssey 1 - Silnylon 1 person hiking tent, single wall, 990g With Carbon Fibre Pole / With Groundsheet
It did not sit right when put up, I had go round and round the tent trying to make it look right but couldn't get everything to be flush, meaning it took a lifetime to put up. Plus I couldn't get the same pegs that went in the bottom to join to the fly, meaning more pegs were needed than given. Also, the fly does not reach the ground so I was scared that rain would splash into the tent in bad weather. The elastic that joined the bottom of the tent to the fly meant that the ground moved around when you moved in the tent.
However, the company were more than willing to let me swap it out with another of their tents, 'the Ultrapack' which fulfilled all of my needs, A+ tent.

Orson Odyssey - Silnylon 1 person tent, single wall, 990g
Being a first time camper I found this tent was really great, lots of room, can sit up easily inside, easy to setup with hiking pole, kept me dry in very windy and wet conditions but I do recommend getting a groundsheet for those really wet days. Very happy with this tent.
